Chakravartin Samrat Ashok
As the name suggests, the story revolves around the legendary warrior, conqueror, & messenger of peace- the great Ashoka himself. Ashok was the Chandragupta Maurya’s grandson & happened to have the same majestic ways of the founder of the Mauryan Empire. In this TV series, Chanakya, the renowned & learned Guru has a nightmare that the Maurya Empire will fall and would not be able to survive the hardships of the future. King Bindusara was doing a decent job but it was not good enough to take on the foreign elements like Helena, who were constantly on the lookout for an opportunity to bring down the empire.
The TV series chronicles the journey of a young Ashok who is determined to make a mark in the history & gets guidance as well as knowledge from Chanakya. Even though Chanakya believed that Ashok was the real warrior and could selflessly serve the kingdom by becoming the ruler, Ashok believed that his brother was the perfect fit for the throne.
Chanakya and his disciples fight hard to protect the kingdom and land from the evil of Magadha’s enemies and strive hard to make sure that enemies of the kingdom do not succeed in any plans. Helena, however, hatches a secret plan with the help of Bindusara’s family to kill Chanakya who is trapped & murdered by the group. In his last breath, Chanakya asks Ashok to make sure that Magadha remains as one and he fulfills the dream of a united country, a united kingdom.
A very interesting relationship also emerges in the story when Ashok meets the Kalinga princess Kaurwaki with whom he marries secretly. Meanwhile, the tussle for the control over the throne
