MERE DAD KI DULHAN series is telecasted on Sony Liv and produced by Tony Singh and Deeya Singh in the banner of DJ’s a Creative Unity. Varun Badola plays as Amber Sharma, Shweta Tiwari as Guneet Sikka, Anjali Tatrari plays as Niya Sharma. Other casts include Vijay Tilani, Avantika Shetty, Shaleen Malhotra, Nidhi Seth, Shivaani Sopuri and others.

Mere Dad Ki Dulhan Storyline

Niya a young woman gets an opportunity to work in US. She has to leave her single father Amber Sharma alone and leave to US. As she feels that her dad will be alone, she permits Guneet Sikka a 40-year-old woman who was thrown out from her rented home to accompany her dad and take care of him as well. But Niya feels that he feels lonely even though she tries her best to take care of him. Thus, she plans to get her father find his “Miss. Right”. She opens an account in an online dating app and makes him talk to a girl which is Guneet herself.

Amber and Guneet talks well and gets close to each other. Later Guneet realizes that she has spoke to Amber and she hates him. Later Niya spends time with her father and she makes him find his Miss.Right. Guneet cancels her marriage after her hating her dating app friend. Amber and Guneet later gets close and they plan to get married as per Niya’s wish. In the side line Niya had to face some relationship issues between Kabir and Swara and eventually Kabir and Niya falls in love and goes on a steady relationship.

After the marriage, Amber and Guneet faces a lot of misunderstandings and they face a lot of problems. But they find some solutions to sought them aswell. Niya on the other hand tries to come over Amber’s possessiveness. After this Kabir and Swara announces their engagement and this shatters Niya. Guneet plans for a swayamvaram for Niya to lift her up. But Niya got upset with her action and shouted at her. Then Niya comes to know that Guneet is pregnant and she is happy for that. Later Niya and Kabir reunites and Amber plans to get them married. But Niya gets an offer to get trained as a CEO in New York. Kabir supports her but she is scared to tell to her father. She goes to Guneet to support her and Gunneet consoles Amber. Niya and Kabir takes some vows and Niya leaves to New York with happy tears after celebrating a joyous and wonderful Diwali.

This story reveals the true relationship between a father and daughter and the bonding between them. This series showcases that a father can have a second life happily with his daughter and wife. This series brought the true bonding, affection and care that a daughter has towards her father in a realistic manner. The way they portrayed the love between father and daughter and the space given between them was an appreciable one. But this story was not accepted by many because of its modern culture emphasis. Thus, the show received low ratings so it was ended in a short time and started with another series.
