A successful Hindi television serial, Punyashlok Ahilyabai which is premiered on Sony Entertainment Television has been standing in awe, since 4th January 2021. Outlining the memoir of Queen Ahilyabai Holkar, the serial is based on the valiant tales of the queen and her struggles of life. The famous director and producers Jackson Sethi, Ninad Vaidya, and Nitin Vaidya brought up an uncovered section of history. Punyasholk Ahilyabai is one of the most loving historic shows. The true ideation behind bringing this chapter into the limelight is to empower women to stand against the discrimination, patriarchal society and become their own support.

The story begins in a small village, where Ahilyabai used to live. She was kind and a smart girl who was praised by everybody in the village. After transfiguring into queen Ahilyabai Holkar, she was praised and loved by her father-in-law, Malhar Holkar. However, her mother-in-law and other queens, suppressed her all the way. The entire story of Ahilyabai depicts the fight she had against discrimination, equality, and the self-esteem of women.

Punyashlok Ahilyabai’s starring commences with the young lead actress Aditi Jaltare who is playing the role of great queen Ahilyabai Holkar. The show highlights the journey of Ahilyabai, who earned herself the title of ‘Matoshree’. Remembered as one of the finest rulers in history, she played a flawless role of a wife, a daughter, a ruler as well as a fighter. On the contrary, lead actor Rajesh Shringarpure aka Malhar Rao Holkar, splendidly playing the role of the father-in-law of Ahilyabai Holker. Rajesh Shringapure has been observed in several Marathi and Hindi TV shows. Portraying King Holkar, he educates her daughter in law (Ahilyabai) about empowering women in their kingdom. Ahilyabai’s husband Khanderao Holkar aka Krish Chauhan is also a young actor, who is brilliantly playing the role of a rough and crude king. Snehlata Vasaikar, as one of Malhar Holkar’s wives, is marvelously defining the negative section of the serial.

Yet, it’s not enough about the show. Not only the star cast but the music has also added four moons to the show. The title song “Gagan Saari Hai Vishal” is exquisitely sung by Anjali Gaikwad. Further, the song was composed by the music director Devendra Bhome. The music magnificently suits the theme, exploding with the feeling of courage, bravery, and the life of queen Ahilyabai.
